Partnering for Impact: Celebrating Our Collaboration with SAMHSA and Schools Across Colorado
At Generation Schools Network, we are thrilled to share the incredible strides being made through our partnership with SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnerships for Success (SPF-PFS) grant. Together with 11 exceptional schools and districts, we are exceeding grant expectations and addressing the school-to-prison pipeline head-on. By providing substance use and mental health therapy, we are empowering justice-engaged and justice-touched students to rewrite their stories.
Our school partners are the true heroes in this mission, leading with dedication and compassion:
Battle Rock Charter School (Cortez, CO)
Black Canyon High School (Montrose, CO)
Del Norte Jr/Sr High (Del Norte, CO)
East Grand School District (Granby, CO)
Harrison High School (Colorado Springs, CO)
Panorama Middle School (Colorado Springs, CO)
Sierra High School (Colorado Springs, CO)
Steamboat Springs School District (Steamboat, CO)
West Grand School District (Kremmling, CO)
Westminster School District (Westminster, CO)
Yuma School District (Yuma, CO)
Highlights from the field include:
West Grand School District is collaborating with the Grand County Sheriff’s Office to support students as well as mental health providers within the community.
Steamboat Springs School District is leveraging counseling services for students, connecting students and families to services, and fostering connections between judges and probation officers to provide holistic support.
Sierra High School has delivered 120 hours of mental health and substance use counseling for justice-engaged students.
Harrison High School is creating a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to support teachers in using restorative circles. Their meetings will be hosted before/after schools at a local coffee shop.
Black Canyon High School held a half-day professional development session aligning SEL, trauma-informed practices, and restorative practices. Their next training will focus on restorative discipline.
Through their commitment, these schools are transforming lives, and GSN is honored to guide and support their journey.
