LEADERSHIP & IMPROVEMENT

GSN comes alongside schools and districts to build leader and teacher capacity to ensure long-term achievement and improvement.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT & MAPPING

We meet schools/districts where they are and support them in developing or refining a customized, relevant, and effective curriculum mapping process that supports equitable teaching and learning of grade-level and graduate competencies aligned with system-wide standards.

DATA PROTOCOLS / TEAMS

Our data protocols assist schools in analyzing school and student level data to identify the root causes around lack of school performance related to both academics and school culture. In addition, our team is skilled at helping schools interpret and fully understand their school and district rankings to determine which evidence-based strategies will move their school most quickly to better meet student needs and which challenges need long-term strategies.

LEADERSHIP COACHING & DEVELOPMENT

Our comprehensive leadership development program is customized to provide meaningful, ongoing and embedded support to a team of local school and district leaders who seek to transform their school ecosystem in a way that uses time, talent, and resources to ensure all students achieve success.

PARTNER WITH A PRINCIPAL

GSN is seeking principals interested in gaining opportunities for thought partnership from a highly experienced principal with success running high performing schools and/or a business leader in the local community to sharpen their collective leadership skills.

Join us as we build a cohort of principals across the state of Colorado to share lessons learned and interact with representatives of the business community, deepening your school’s local relationships.

PRINCIPAL INDUCTION PROGRAM

We partner with districts and BOCES/county agencies to create and implement their principal induction/training programs. Our frameworks are designed to meet state requirements for new principals, principals new to their district, or incoming out-of-state principals in making a successful transition into their new school environment.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING & PROGRESS MONITORING

Using our Five Dimensions of Change process, we work with school leadership teams to gather information, conduct needs assessments, and co-develop strategies for how to better use time, talent and resources for school improvement —this includes monitoring the improvement process, building capacity around needed changes in practice and revising programs as needed.

TEACHER COLLABORATION PROTOCOLS

We provide a model to guide the operation of schools, characterized by shared norms and values, creating a collective focus on student learning, communication for effective collaboration, de-privatizing practice, and reflective dialogue. Our team helps schools develop and implement shared norms and values, as well as processes and protocols for collaborative practice.

RESULTS

GSN’s Turnaround Leadership Program (TLP) offered in partnership with Battelle for Kids and Colorado State University-Global Campus has resulted in significant school improvement in participating districts. Participants in the last four cohorts of schools and districts indicated through survey data that:

  • 80% saw a positive impact on collaborative culture

  • 70% saw improvement in instructional practice

  • 77% saw improvement in quality of professional development

  • 77% saw improvement in distribution of leadership

  • 72% saw improvement in social/emotional learning support

See the full TLP Report here.

In addition, GSN has partnered with more than two dozen school districts to support the diagnostic review and unified improvement planning process.
