Youth Substance Use Prevention

We utilize a public health, culturally informed approach to youth substance use prevention that is data driven and community informed.

Youth Substance Use Prevention

Evidence-Based Prevention

We utilize evidence-based prevention practices to effectively provide support to communities addressing youth substance use and other risky behaviors. By working with communities we are able to affect population level changes in reducing rates of young people using or ever using substances. By addressing prevention through a shared risk and protective factor (SRPF) approach, we acknowledge that risk and protective factors are interconnected, and have a number of impacts on youth populations. SRPF occurs at a range of levels from individual to societal and influences many health and quality-of-life outcomes.
